breast cancer patients

Client Introduction

Advanced Educational Systems (AES) is the hypermedia instructional development department of the New York University School of Medicine. Specialty areas include educational informatics, digital video, composite video, 3D modeling, animation, simulation, relational databases and mobile computing.

From the beginning AES has sought to fashion a multidisciplinary, faculty - student effort to identify, study, and invent the variety of ways by which computer and communication technologies can enhance the learning process.

The ultimate goal of the lab is to drive the transformation of the institution into a learning and problem-solving environment that supports access to and creation of information unfettered by time and space and enhances both individual creativity

Project Overview

Advanced Educational Systems (AES) asked me to create the visuals and animations to be used on a CD-ROM developed to help breast cancer patients learn how to care for their Hemovac and Jackson Pratt Drains. A sample of what the patients learn from the CD-ROM include the different types of drains available, the correct ways to wear them, and how they should position themselves when sleeping.
